Downloading and listening

How do I get my tale after buying?
Right after you pay, Gumroad shows a download page and also emails you a receipt with a link to it. Tap “Download” next to each file. If you made a free Gumroad account, your tales are also kept in your Gumroad Library, so you can download them again at any time.

What will I receive?
An MP3 audio file of about 15 minutes, with the cover picture inside. Every Greek tale also comes with a FREE BONUS: the full tale of Hypnos, the god of sleep. The Twelve Labours complete set is one long MP3 (about 3 hours) with a chapter for each labour.

Does it work on my phone, tablet or computer?
Yes. MP3 plays on every common device, with no special app: on iPhone/iPad, open the receipt-email link in Safari and download it into the Files app; on Android, it lands in your Files or Downloads app; on Windows, Mac or Linux, download and double-click to play. You can also play straight from the Gumroad page in your browser.

The complete set is a big file. Any tips?
It is about 176 MB, so download it on Wi-Fi rather than mobile data.

Can I share the tales?
They are for your own home and family. Please don't copy, share or upload them. Thank you: this is what keeps new tales coming.

The free birthday tale

How does it work?
It comes free with the Twelve Labours complete set. Your child becomes the hero of a tale you pick from the books already in our shop. At checkout you tell us your child's name (or pet name) and how to say it, their date of birth and the tale you picked. Brothers and sisters can be in it too.

Who reads it?
You choose: our narrator Andreas Kalos, or an AI voice made from a short recording of an adult in your family. Voice recordings from adults only, please.

How do I send the voice recording?
Only if you chose a family voice: use our voice-sample form, which explains step by step how to record and upload a short sample. If you chose Andreas Kalos, there is nothing more to send.

How long does it take?
About 2 weeks. Please order at least 2 weeks before the birthday.

Is it really unique?
Yes. Every birthday tale has its own number, is made only once, for your child only, and is never reused, resold or remade for anyone else.

Your child's details and your voice sample

We use your child's details only to make their birthday tale, and delete them once it has been delivered. A voice recording is used only to make the AI voice for that one tale; the recording and the AI voice made from it are both deleted afterwards. We need the written consent of the adult whose voice it is.

Refunds

Can I get a refund?
Because the tales are digital downloads, we can't take them back once downloaded, so there are no refunds. If a file is faulty or won't play, write to us and we will send you a new file.

And the birthday tale?
Once your child's tale has been made, it can't be refunded, because it was made only for them. If a name or detail is wrong, tell us straight away and we'll correct it.
